This list has been really helpful in my understanding of what makes a good story. I often spend such a long time writing my stories that by the time that I personally find them to be of decent quality, I no longer care for them. I have high standards for what I want my stories to convey. If I don't like my own stories, I certainly cannot expect anyone else to.
